Events

We now have adult and children’s snow shoes to lend!  Check out some snow shoes when you check out your books at the Wells Village Library.  Many thanks to RiseVT for making this possible.  Post your selfies with the snow shoes on our Facebook page at Wells Village Library!  Please call Erin or Joy at 802-645-0611, visit our website at www.wellslibrary.com, or email us at wellsvillagelibrary@gmail.com, with questions.

On October 28, 2017, at 6:30pm, we viewed horror movies.  We served popcorn, snacks, and soft drinks.

On October 31, 2017, the library was opened from 5p-8p for trick-or-treating.  The ice cream truck was there with free ice cream.

Summer Reading Program

The theme for 2018 is Libraries Rock!  We will have lots of fun activities planned.

Our library is located at 5 East Wells Road, Wells, VT 05774.  Please visit our website (wellslibrary.com), call Joy or Erin at 802-645-0611, or email us at wellsvillagelibrary@gmail.com with questions.

Movie Night

We occasionally show free movies to the public on Friday evenings.  All movies are not appropriate for all audiences.  Some of the movies will have a PG-13 or R rating for language and violent content.

Thanks to the community and the MWA for all your help with Wells Village Library Book & Bake Sale in in July 2017.  It was very successful.  Please come see of the new books and programs will develop with these skills.

The Wells Village Library is pleased to announce some new programs and opportunities!

WELLS VILLAGE LIBRARY BOOK CLUB

Everyone is welcomed to join us even if you can only come occasionally!

The Book Club typically meets at the library the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1pm.  However, occasionally these dates change due to inclement weather, holidays, or the schedules of the authors.  Please call or check the website for changes.  Joy Brewster is the moderator.

Occasionally we will invite local authors to our meetings to discuss their book.  Please call us at 802-645-0611, or email us at wellsvillagelibrary@gmail.com, with questions.

The Lights of Wells Program takes place in December on the village green in front of the library.  It is a beautiful, heartwarming community event which includes both churches.  The library will be decorated with books and items celebrating the many ways people enjoy the holiday seasons.  People are invited to enjoy the cookies and cocoa in the library.  The horse drawn wagon rides and the arrival of Santa to light the tree will add to the magic of the evening.  Our thanks to all the community groups who help make the evening memorable.

Wells Village Parents, Teachers, and Faculty from Wells Village School or Other Local Communities

Come join us at the Wells Village Library to gain a better understanding of the Common Core State Standards, PLP's, and IEP's.

We are also interested in any thoughts from patrons about workshops or learning sessions in which they may have an interest.  Our patrons have diverse, varied, and fascinating interests and pastimes they may enjoy sharing, e.g. local and Vermont history, education law, applied behavior analysis, beautiful arts and crafts, dancing, quilting, cooking, photography, genealogy, local villians, ghost stories, gravestone rubbings, equine behavior, community service, travel, science, mathematics, computers, Native American teachings, and horticulture, just to name a few.  Please call Erin or Joy at 802-645-0611 or email us at wellsvillagelibrary@gmail.com, to express an interest you may have, and we will try to schedule things in which people express as interest.

During the summer of 2018, the Wells Village Library plans to provide free park passes to many Vermont State parks and historic sites.

The passes allow one to gain entrance to most day use areas and historic sites. Stop in to borrow a pass for a period of three days. As a library card holder, you can receive free entry for up to eight people in one vehicle.
